Well thanks to the rain , I got a little done on the Cessna. I worked on the mounting of the servos for the ailerons and flaps. It doesn't look like a lot of work ,but it was harder than expected. I needed to do it before I sheet the top of the wing , that way It was easier to see what I was doing . Anyway here is some pictures.

Well I did some work on the Cessna. I got the flaps shaped and installed. They have simulated fowler flaps , A first for me. The pin hinges have to be drilled at a angle using a drill guide. The guides worked fairly well. Next on my list is the ailerons .They are solid and shaped except for the leading edge, Some more fun.

I worked on the aileron control horns today. I recessed two 1/8 in plywood pieces to screw the control horns to. I started by marking the out line on the ailerons and then cutting the outline with a razor blade. The next step was to remove the material inside the lines with a Dremel tool, then epoxying the 1/8 in ply in place. My next thing to do is install the control horns and connecting rods and check out their operation.

I'm back. I need to sheet the top of the wing . I started by gluing 1/16 x 3 balsa sheeting together. It's so thin by gluing them together on the table , you can sand them on solid surface instead of on the wing. I started with the center section. It required a lot of fitting , but I got-r-done. Next I will be sheeting the outer sections . If the wind keeps blowing 40 mph ,maybe I can get all the sheeting done and I WILL be glad when it is.

I managed to get a little more done on the Cessna. I sheeted the outer left wing. I added a 1/4x1/4 balsa strip to the leading edge of the wing so as to have more surface to bond the skin to, instead of butting 1/16 balsa against the leading edge. The bottom sheeting was that way to , but I was able to reinforce it with glue, since the top sheeting was not on yet. Now all I have left to do is sheet the top of the right wing and I will be finally be done with sheeting. Next comes sanding.YEA YEA!!!

I'm using the ARF Kit's Fiberglass parts for the wing tips as well as the wheel pants and cowl. The wing tips comes with lights installed.

I got a little more work done on the Cessna. I fitted the wing to the fuselage. Drilled the holes for the wing bolts , then I installed the wing spacers at the windshield. I glued them and then sanded them to fit. With that done , the plane is almost ready for covering .The biggest problem left is the interior kit.
I may have to cover it first , as the window need to go in before the interior.
