I've done about all I can do for the fuselage for now. I will be building the the wing next. Can't fly without a wing. I gathered up the parts and ran into a problem with the leading edge. It was really curved. I tried straighten it by wetting and clamping it let dry over night and it was still curved, so I gave up and made new ones. Here is some pictures getting started.

The wing is complex, as it is poly dihedral and tapered. I had to read the instructions about six times before I understood what they were trying to do. The plans only have the top view of the right wing. You start by building the left wing upside down over the top view of the right wing. Are we confused YET?? I was. I managed to get it done and ready to start the right wing .It builds upside down and backwards on the top view of the right wing plans. Heres the latest pictures.

Hey guys . I managed to get the right wing built upside down on top of the top view of the right wing.
I am now ready to join the right and left outer sections to the center section with epoxy. Then I will be ready to start the sheeting of the wing.

I had to stop work on the Cessna and do some spring cleaning. I did manage to get a little work done on the Flaps. The plans have you Epoxy the wing sections together and then sheet them. After you sheet them you are to cut out the flaps out of the sheeted wing . I didn't like the ideal of having to handle a 81 inch wing doing all that cutting, so I went ahead and cut them out before sheeting. I got them sheeted and the leading edge shaped. I fitted them to the wing and checked how the servo functioned. Now I ready to epoxy the wing section together and sheet them. Here some pictures.

I got the wings epoxied together. While I was letting it set up , I got to looking at the Fowler Flap hinge installation. They use Robart large Hinge points. I was concerned about how to drill the proper angle. Well It so happens they provide a drill gauge for the drilling. Here is some pictures of them. Looks like they should work just fine.

They don't show a section at the aileron. The ailerons are standard hinges. The ailerons are solid balsa , but you have to sand the standard bevel at the hinge point. I test fitted the wing to the fuselage. It starting to look like a real 182 Cessna. The parts box is about empty and the scrap box is about full. I guess I getting close to having it framed up. Here is some pictures

Sorry guys I haven't got much done on the Cessna. Been doing spring cleaning. I did get started sheeting the wing. I started with the bottom center section buy gluing four sheet together. The hard part is fitting it between the leading and trailing edges and centering it between ribs W-3 and W-4. It took me about an hour of cutting and sanding to get it to fit perfect . Well close to perfect. Here's pictures.

Thanks to the rain I got a little done on the Cassna. With the Bottom all sheeted , it's time to turn it over and get the top ready to sheet. First there is some thing that have to be done . There were some wing braces that need to be put in ,also cutting out the hatches for the servos. Needed to drill hole for the wing bolt from the inside as they would be hard to locate after the wing is sheeted. I also need to do something with the wiring for wing tip lights. Here is the latest pictures
