I've been trying to find “Dawn Power Dissolver” to clean my engines. It was the only thing I found to clean baked on oil from engines and mufflers, with out attacking the aluminum. I finally found it under a new name “ Dawn Grill Cleaner “ . On the label it says also sold as “ Dawn Power Dissolver “ I found it at Home Depot for $3.97 It works pretty good. Just spray it on and let it set for about 15 to 30 minutes. Then scrub it of with a stiff brush . On the really stubborn spots I use SOS pad. Try it you will like it!!!
Sounds like a commercial dosen't it.

Here's a worst case I had. A muffler with years of burned on oil. It took three soakings and some SOS, but I got it done without damage to the muffler.
