Re: All Season Flyers 2024

Took 11 days, but I got in a flight! Perfect wind until I got the wing on and battery charged, then it got breezy. But.... right down the runway! Good flight, not perfect, but good.
So May is in the book! BTW, the field looks really good.

Re: All Season Flyers 2024

Beginning to wonder again about flying weather and logging a flight. Thinking we just might have to fire some weathermen if they can't get us what we need! But on a day that nearly everyone was going crazy on sun worship, I got decent wind and logged a couple. Actually were decent flight events, fro...

Re: All Season Flyers 2024

Wow! Looks like another close call. Weather forecast just wasn’t ever right. Missed all the good days, but made it out just as the world was ending by storms rolling across the plains, to quote a song! From the field, we could see storms blossoming to incredible heights, and could tell they were sev...

Re: All Season Flyers 2024

Wow! Thought I might miss it! Hard to catch the right day to get in a flight for February, but this afternoon turned out ‘good enough’ to get in two. It’s in the books now, and Kelsey got his too!
So now... it’s on for March!

Re: All Season Flyers 2024

Made my flight for the coming year, and had a great day over all! Kelsey burned circles with his electric plan, which proved easier than mine, because my fingers got so cold trying to get the engine started! It ran great after it warmed a little, and had no problems. Wind, what there was of it, was ...

Re: New Years Day Chili Fly

First day of 2024!! Good weather (for January) with low winds! Several flyers there and quite a few visitors wanting entertainment. We gave it to them! Had chili too! Thanks Kieth and Mike ( I think it was his, but if not then to the person that did provide!) for bringing that old all American treat...

Re: All Season Flyer 2023

Cool….. more ways than one. Logged my December flight to complete the year, but it’s been the most challenging! Actually a little windy for comfort but I did it!

Re: Black Friday Swap Shop

Another one in the books. Great big thank you to Kieth for spear-heading this event. And to the board for providing us with a cold weather retreat. Can’t fly? Go buy and sell. Had fun interacting with so many modelers (some of them as old as I am!) talking about how things were in the old days! Like...

Re: All Season Flyer 2023

Nov 4, and five of us got in flights for November. Jim Kale, Gary and Jimmy, and Kelsey, and me! Breezy but down the runway for the most part. Not out of control, but ground handling was a little tricky on the taxi down wind. But really a good day! Logged several flights, and some touch and go missi...

Re: All Season Flyer 2023

October is still early, and we got a perfect day to log our flights for the month! I got in four, I think! Had so much fun, I lost count. Kelsey got in air time and so did Kieth. He really flies the jet! Hope there are a few more days like this one. :P And, oh yeah, both the Oklahoma teams...
